Game Time!

“Team Window” and “Team Wall” compete to see who gets more answers right. The purpose of this exercise is to review what we learned in the first half of the course. (Not graded). First 10 minutes, review these previous quizzes:

QUIZ: Camera Basics

QUIZ: Pre-Photography

QUIZ: Pre-Modern, Part 1

If you have time, you might also want to review these pages:

Camera Basics, Aperture, Shutter-speed & DOF.pdf

Three Exposure Factors.pptx

What Painters Could Do in 1826 That Joseph Nicephore Niepce Could Not. What is Latency.pptx

LECT: Pre-Photographic Period

LECT: Pre-Modern Period, Part 1: First Photographs

You can allocate one quiz to sub-groups within your team, so those people become experts in that area, or you can each study all the quizzes. Which do you think is more efficient?

Before contest can begin: ALL COMPUTER SCREENS MUST BE TURNED OFF!

Then I'll ask the 20 questions:

  1. Whoever raises their hand first gets called on. Once called on, only the person who raised their hand can answer. If anyone helps him or her, I will deduct a point from your score.

  2. If the person I call on gets the right answer their team scores a point. If they miss, the next team gets a try (first person on the next team to raise their hand).

  3. If the second team misses, it goes back to the first team and you can try to get the answer as a group.

  4. If the first team still can't get it, the second team gets to try as a group. If no one has gotten it by then, no one gets a point for that question.

  5. If no one raises their hand when the question is first asked, I will flip a coin (for example, heads = Team Window, tails = Team Wall) and the winner can try to answer as a team. If they can't answer, the opposing team will have one chance to answer as a team.
