Welcome to CTE Organization and Curriculum Design. My name is Thomas Mosby and I will be your course facilitator for the quarter. I am delighted to have each of you in the course. My goal is to assist you in completing and understanding the content that I believe will have you ready to develop your CTE course framework. The CTE course framework is the initial curriculum framework you will be responsible for developing in order to be approved to teach your CTE course content. Your respective current or hiring district might already have the curriculum framework approve upon your hire. However, eventually you will be responsible for developing a curriculum framework as the guideline for how you teach your approved CTE course.

This course is set up to help you understand the language and content that will be involved in the course curriculum design process. The ultimate outcome of the course is to have you be able to begin the development of a framework which will be the primary design tool you will need to create a CTE framework for the course/s you will eventually or currently teach. It is mandatory for all CTE teachers to submit a course framework every 4 years to OSPI for evaluation for each CTE course you teach. This course will help you understand the design process involved in the Framework as well as other critical CTE organization instructional process and expectations. The course grading will be based on you completing each assignment successfully by receiving the assigned 1 point value for each assignment completed. The rubric will help you determine how you have been graded on each assignment. If an assignment is submitted and does not meet the assignment criteria necessary for a successful passing recognition. I will send you feedback and allow you to resubmit the assignment with the recommended changes to be considered for passing at the time of resubmission.
